‘Music in the Streets’ 2:00 – 5:45PM

World Music day will be comprised of two parts this year. For the first part the organizing partners decided to bring back ‘Music in the Streets’ where live, acoustic, classical music performances curated and performed by the Kampala Symphony Orchestra and the Kampala Music School will be taking place in different venues in Kampala city.

‘Music in the Streets’ will kick off in the French Embassy Gardens. For the first time ever, the Embassy of France in Uganda will be opening its doors to the public to provide the attendees with enjoyable classical music pieces from French composers.

Afterwards the performers and attendees will be invited to walk to the Constitutional Square where a second performance will begin at 3pm. The third performance will take place at the corner of Colville and Kampala Road at 4pm followed by the fourth performance which will take place at the IPS building at 5pm. Lastly all the musicians and audience will congregate at the National Theatre by 6pm to begin the evening program.

  •  ANDREA PAGANI TRIO

ANDREA PAGANI – PIANO, DANIELE BASIRICO – BASS, MASSIMILIANO DE LUCIA – DRUM;

“SONGS WITHOUT VOICE” is the new project of instrumental music of “Andrea Pagani Trio”, a show that plays original compositions and popular Italian songs arranged in jazz. The outcome of this project is the latest album of the Trio, from the proverbial title “Bravo bravo, but do you have a singer?” (2012), published by the Roman trade mark “Zone di Musica”, whose songs represent a good part of the line-up of the concert, along with other classical music of the Trio.
The elegant and refined soundtrack ranges from ballads to all rage swings, from the Caribbean and the Brazilian rhythms to a funk and soul checks full of 70s’ flavour. All with a personal touch free from traditional schemes, with a bit of irony and the desire to get down to flip or to invent a different ambience to re-interpret without words the enchant of songs.

In repertoire, besides the compositions of Pagani, songs of Battisti, Buscaglione, Rustichelli, Petrolini and other excerpts from the new album of Solo Piano entitled “Petit (and) Suite Pour Philippe”, released on the 2nd of October 2015.

Venue: National Theatre on Friday, Nov 6 at 7pm at 20,000/=

and Jazz Ville Bugolobi on Saturday, Nov 7 at 9pm, FREE!
